What is The Little Reading House?
The Little Reading House is a warm, supportive space where children become confident readers. We specialize in dyslexia therapy, reading intervention, and early literacy support for children in Pre-K through 8th grade—whether they have a diagnosis or just need extra help.

Who do you help?
We support children who:
-
Struggle with reading, writing, or spelling
-
Show signs of dyslexia or have been diagnosed
-
Have ADHD, dysgraphia, or other learning challenges
-
Need structured support to catch up or stay on track
Every child’s journey is unique—and we meet them where they are.

Do I need a diagnosis for my child to start?
No diagnosis is required. We begin with a reading evaluation to understand how your child learns and where they need support. From there, we create a customized plan tailored to your child’s strengths and needs.

What is a reading evaluation?
Our reading evaluation includes:
-
Phonics and spelling checks
-
Fluency and comprehension assessment
-
One-on-one feedback session with parents
It helps us pinpoint where your child is thriving and where they need extra support.

What is dyslexia therapy like?
Dyslexia therapy is a special kind of reading instruction that’s designed just for how your child learns best. It’s not like tutoring—it’s a proven, step-by-step method that helps kids build reading and spelling skills from the ground up.
We use a multisensory approach, which means we teach using sight, sound, movement, and touch to help your child truly understand and remember what they’re learning. Sessions are structured, consistent, and taught at your child’s pace—so they feel confident, not rushed or overwhelmed.
Most students attend 2 to 4 sessions per week, either one-on-one or in a small group.

Who teaches the sessions?
All sessions are led by highly trained:
-
Certified Academic Language Therapists (CALT)
-
CALTs-in-training
-
Certified teachers and dyslexia specialists
We’re not just experts—we’re passionate educators who care about your child’s success.

-
Walk you through the next steps
You can request a consultation by calling, texting, or emailing us directly.

How much do sessions cost?
Session pricing varies based on the number of sessions per month and group size (1:1 or small group). We’ll go over all the options during your consultation.

Is this covered by insurance or schools?
Dyslexia therapy is not typically covered by insurance because it is considered an educational service—not a medical treatment. Most insurance companies only cover services that are labeled as “medical necessity,” and dyslexia is classified as a learning difference, not a medical condition.
That said, many families use private funds, flexible spending accounts (FSA/HSA), or educational grants to help with the cost. If your child is in public school, we can also guide you through requesting classroom accommodations and services through a Section 504 Plan or IEP (Individualized Education Program), depending on eligibility.
Let us know your situation—we’ll help you find the best path.

How do I know if my child is improving?
We check your child’s progress often through:
-
Ongoing reading assessments
-
Personalized progress notes
-
Regular parent updates and celebrations of growth
You’ll never be left wondering how your child is doing—we’re partners in their success.
